MAXINE B. BROOKS

Maxine B. Brooks PAMPLICO - Funeral service for Mrs. Maxine B. Brooks will be 2 PM Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Mill Branch A.M.E. Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Moses Funeral Home of Pamplico. Mrs. Brooks died May 24 in a Florence hospital after an illness. She was born in Florence County the daughter of the late Rev. D.M. Brown and Minnie Hyman Brown. She attended the Florence County public schools and member of Mill Branch A.M.E. Church. She served on the Stewardess Board Leader, Women's Missionary Society and the Pastor's Aid. Mrs. Brooks was the widow of the late Robert Brooks. Survivors are: A son, whom she reared as her own, Grover (Lori) Guiles, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Essie (David) Bacote, Virginia Thompson, Rosa Lee Brooks, and Patrica Brooks; one brother-in-law, Ozell Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
