Rev. Morgan W. Rodgers LYMAN, SC - Reverend Morgan W. Rodgers, 90, husband of the late Doris Lee Rodgers, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Ashlan Village, Lyman, SC after an illness. Reverend Rodgers was born August 14, 1921, in Florence County, a son of the late John Samuel Rodgers and Ethel Floyd Rodgers. He was a graduate of Furman University and a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received a Bachelor of Divinity Degree. Reverend Rodgers was a former pastor at the following churches in South Carolina: Spring Gully Baptist Church in Andrews, Bloomingvale Baptist Church in Andrews, Calvary Baptist Church in Lake City, Welsh Neck Baptist Church in Society Hill, Gethsemane Baptist Church in St. Matthews and Paran Baptist Church in Lake City. Survivors include his two sons, Don (Ruby) Rodgers of Greer and Darryl (Kim) Rodgers of Cary, NC; four grandchildren, Wade (Kathy) Rodgers, Amy (Doug) Godfrey, Chase Rodgers and Justin Rodgers; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Godfrey, Sam Godfrey, Luke Godfrey and Newman Rodgers; two step-great grandchildren, Josh Garrison and Zach Garrison; sister-in-law, Marjorie Gause of Coward and brother-in-law, DeLeon (Sandra) Lee, Jr. of Florence. Reverend Rodgers was predeceased by his wife, Doris Lee Rodgers; a brother, Harry Rodgers; sister-in-law, Virginia Poston Matthews; and brother-in-law, L.J. Gause. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. at Jackson Baptist Church, Wellford, SC. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Lake City Memorial Park, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton, SC Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O.
