Mr. Woody was born March 5, 1924 in Rock Hill, SC, son of the late James Dewey Woody, Sr. and Fannie Baker Woody. He served in the United State Marine Corps during World War II. He was retired form Dupont as a Maintenance Mechanic. Mr. Woody was a member of First Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant, SC. He was also a mason, Past Master of the Flintville Lodge #158, Evergreen, SC and dual member of Etiwan Lodge #95, Mount Pleasant, SC.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harold T. and Doris Woody of Mount Pleasant, SC, his daughter and son-in-law, Jane and John Harris of Port Charlotte, Florida, three grandchildren, Jamie Woody, Tosca Moore and Johnny Harris and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Verla T. Woody.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society, 267 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
