Joseph Bernard Anderson Jr. of Viera, Florida, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in Buffalo, NY on June 19, 1924, he was the son of Joseph B. Anderson Sr. and Elizabeth Luke Anderson. Joe was raised in York, PA, where he resided most of his life. He was Director of Marketing for Campbell Chain Co. for 21 Years before his retirement. He was a graduate of the Wharton School of the Univ. of Pennsylvania. A veteran of WWII, he was an Officer in Charge of Landing Craft Tank. Joe was an avid sailor, sailing many times on his sailboat "Seagoat" from the Chesapeake to Florida on the inland waterway, and to the Bahamas and Cuba. Living in the Florida Keys for many years, he was past Commodore of the Marathon, FL Yacht Club. Other affiliations were founder of York Jaycees, Rotary Club, PA Society of Sons of the Revolution, V.F.W., and Susquehanna Yacht Club.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Zarfoss) Anderson. Four children, Martha (Matt) Bustillos, Mission Viejo, CA, Elizabeth Anderson, Oakland, CA, Judith Anderson, North Bend, OR and Robert (Devon) Anderson of Moscow, ID. Two stepdaughters, Cheryl (Jim) Henry and Dawn DeMaine, both of Dallastown, PA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm, Sun. February 9, 2014 at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive, Viera, FL. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.

Dear Evelyn, My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of loss. I was only blessed to know Joe for a short time but was honored to know him and have been able to care for him for a short time. Knowing you both has been a blessing to me.
