Titusville, FL
Karyn Mosdell, Oak Park Elementary school teacher and beloved mother of three, passed away Sunday morning, May 11, 2014 at the age of 52.
Born December 23, 1961 in Arlington Heights, Illinois, Karyn made many great friends across the country, particularly in Texas, where she grew up, and in our small community of Titusville. Karyn received her bachelor's degree from North Texas State University and her master's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She was known as a kind-hearted, generous woman and was loved by many, especially her family, fellow teachers, and THS soccer parents and those with children involved in the arts. She will be missed far and wide.
Karyn is survived by her children sons; Geoffrey and Mark; daughter Audrey, her parents Robert and Mary Elsie Hackett, brothers Steve Hackett (Evelyn) and Jeff Hackett (Christine).
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 pm, Saturday May 17, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mims, FL. Please sign Karyn's online guestbook at www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com.

I always remember her talking about her dog Petey! I remember her infatuation with Tupperware type containers! And I remember when she told me if she could only lose a few pounds between her knees and belly button!

Karyn was called home way to soon. Our hearts are broken now, but remember God has a plan. I pray for strength for her family to endure this in creditably difficult time. She will forever be in the hearts of many.

Not only the residents in Hunters Ridge, but so many others, have been blessed with the kindness, laughter and support that was Karyn. Always there to help and join in the fun with neighborhood gatherings and projects...and always with a smile! Watching her raise her children was heartwarming knowing the best job God gave her was being a mom. The world is a better place because Karyn Mosdell was in it. All who had the pleasure of meeting her are blessed. Keeping her children, family and friends in our hearts and prayers today and always.

Karen was a big part of the Hunter's Ridge neighborhood. We will always remember many fun times with her at block parties, Christmas parties, and cookie exchanges. We watched Geoffrey, Mark, and Audrey grow up into outstanding young adults as a result of Karen's love and guidance. Karen was a kind and giving person and she will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to the family.

Thanks to her, I got to see THS win a Regional semi final game, which was over an hour away, in 2012. She came through my line at Publix and offerred me a ride which I gladly accepted. She was one of the most supportive parents I knew and one of my last interactions with her was at Target where she was buying flowers to take to her daughter who was in the play at THS. I will definitely miss seeing her smiling face and talking about our kids.
