I met Rus when I was working at BB&T. I just moved back to Orlando from Greensboro, NC and was in need of a stylist. Needless to say for 6 years Rus made me a very happy girl. I am extremely picky about my hair but I never had to worry about disappointment with him. He knew me so well he wouldn't even allow me to make a mistake. I didn't know he had cancer until I called to schedule an appointment and he never returned the call. Knowing this was unlike him I searched him on facebook and started following him to keep up with his progress. It just breaks my heart how positive and confident he was during his fight. I admire that! Recently I went to see if there were any updates and noticed he wasn't there so I looked on line and found this. I guess not knowing about the services I was unable to pay my respect so I am using this as an outlet for my heart. Rus was not just my stylist he was a friend, someone I shared life with. I will miss everything about him but mostly his warm hugs when I arrived at the salon and his amazing hair washing scalp massaging techniques. I love you Rus! One thing I know is everyone in heaven now has great hair:) See you again soon.

Rick Diane Alvey and Sandy There are no words that can truly comfort you. All I can say is I am truly sorry for your loss. I did not know Russell
personally but I did work at a couple of salons with Diane. I know that ache that is in your heart too well, from losing both of my children. Tony passed in 2008 and you know how close we were. Diane you and Rick were always a strong unit. Together as a family you will get through it just hold on to your memories because no one can ever take them away. May God bless you and keep you safe. Please email me sometime. I am always here if you need someone.

It is hard to find the words to express how very sorry we are for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. I know my dad is up there with Rusty already making him laugh. Your family has always been very special to us and we love you all dearly.

Rick and Diane - If Rusty could speak - he would say - If you could see me now, you wouldn't shed a tear. Though you may not understand, I have been set free. I've held our Father's face and touched my Saviors hand. The angels rejoiced as I entered the promise land. The beauty is beyond words and every tear that drops - let it be a tear of joy as I will be with you always in memory and love. My deepest sympathy to you both, Alvey and family.
