Murdoch, Dorothy Savard "Dottie"*
Dorothy Savard Murdoch Seattle, WA On April 20, 2016, Dorothy Savard Murdoch, who was known to her friends as "Dottie," peacefully passed away in Seattle. She is joining her husband William and older son Bill and leaving a younger son Tom, grandson Billy, great grandson Nicholas, several nieces, nephews and many friends. After being born on her Gramma Foley's kitchen table in Titusville PA, Dottie's next 95 years were even more adventurous. Following Titusville High School, she went to Penn State University (Kappa) where she earned a Masters in Art History…and during that timeframe, secretly married William Murdoch.  In 1943, Dottie and William had a son Bill. Shortly afterwards, William was off with the Army Air Corps in France and Germany. After WWII, Dottie and William, who left the service, had a second son, Tom. Next William got called back to active duty in the U.S. Air Force.  Dottie then earned what she joyfully called a "Masters in Moving and Packing" traveling with her family from PA to NY, TX, MS, Japan, VA, Chicago, back to Japan, OH, WDC, MD and FL with side trips to China, several countries in Europe, and just about everywhere in the Caribbean. Along the way, Dottie served as a "Grey Lady" volunteer at several military hospitals, worked in several Air Force Base Special Services facilities, and taught English at the Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus OH. Her many entertaining life stories, quick wit and smile will be greatly missed. And when you think about Dottie, recall one of her favorite sayings about age: "Don't talk dirty!" Dottie will be resting with her husband William and her son Bill in Titusville PA later in the year. Remembrances in Dottie's name will grow in the Adopt A Stream Foundation's Streamkeeper Academy Endowment Fund. Send your tax-deductable remembrance to the Adopt A Stream Foundation, 600 - 128th Street SE, Everett WA 98208 or make it online at www.streamkeeper.org .
