Brian Wayne Hawkins, 57 of Malabar passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Palm Bay. A seventh generation Floridian and native of Dade County, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Brian dearly loved and served as a Lieutenant with the Melbourne Fire Department and had recently retired after 37 years of service.

Brian was also a Fire Instructor for the Eastern Florida State College Fire Academy and enjoyed training the recruits. He also worked as an ASE certified mechanic for Sears for 24 years. Brian enjoyed spending his time with family and friends, watching NASCAR races and rooting for Kyle Busch, going mudding in his commander and was an avid internet researcher, leaving no site unchecked. Brian was greatly loved by his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Teresa; sons, Cody and Shane Hawkins; father, Vernon (Helen); sister, Betty (Chris) Foster; granddaughter, Shayna Hawkins, and his firefighter brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21st at 11 am at the Church of Christ of Melbourne on Hollywood Blvd. Brian is now resting in peace with his beloved mother Marge. We Love you and will cherish your memory always. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Brian's memory be made to The Space Coast Early Intervention Center.
