Donald Kevin Goodman, 54, passed away peacefully at his home in Indian Harbor Beach on April 23, 2014.

Born in Tallassee, Alabama, Kevin, as an army brat, attended many schools in many locations across the US and overseas, such as those in Hawaii, Virginia, and England. He graduated high school from Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Central Florida.

Kevin began his career at Kennedy Space Center in 1989 writing test software for the Space Shuttle program. Leaving KSC, Kevin worked for Harris, first as a contract Engineer and then as a full time employee. Beginning in 1994, Kevin worked in Government Communications System Division as a Software Engineer, primarily on FAA related programs, until 2013 when his health made it impossible to continue.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Toni (Goodman) Holcomb; father, Donald W. Goodman and his wife, Paula Dupriest; and sisters Melanie (Tim) Hensey; Natalie (David) Royer and Lauren (Bryan) Thrasher. He was Uncle Kevin to Lara Hensey Fier and Haley Hensey, Cameron and Kaylynn Royer and Amanda Thrasher.

Kevin was an avid reader and owned an extensive library. He loved sailing his Dragon Fly trimaran on the Indian River and participated in many races and other local sailing events.

A memorial service will be held on June 14, at 4:30 PM at the Suntree Methodist Church Memorial Garden at the Cross Tower. A reception will follow in the church dining room.
