Eugene Robert Royer -Merritt Island - Eugene Robert Royer, 69, died November 8, 2009 in Cocoa Beach, FL. He was born in Pendleton, OR on July 30, 1940 to Clarence and Rhea Hawks Royer. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Oralee; children, Noel Spears, Eric Royer, Glenn (Katherine) Royer; brother, David Royer; and sisters, Bernice Mc Clellen, and JoAnn. Eugene was a member of Grace United Methodist Church on Merritt Island, a member of the United Methodist Men, and the United Methodist Campers. He was also a member of the National Management Club of United Space Alliance, received the 2005 Community Service Award for United Space Alliance for the Space Camp for Children. He worked for McDonnell Douglas for 17 years, and then United Space Alliance for 10 years prior to retiring in March of 2008. He was extremely kind and generous, a person who loved his family. He had a quirky sense of humor, enjoyed photographing birds, and tinkering with electronics. A private family service was held at Grace United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to his church, Grace United Methodist Church, 65 Needle Blvd., Merritt Island, FL 32953. Arrangements by East Coast Cremation, 321-632-1350. We were so Sorry to hear of the passing of Gene. Our deepest condolences go out to his Wife and Family. Gene was a Good friend to us when we lived in Merritt Island. May God watch over him at this time. Till we all meet again.
