Frederick E. James, Jr. passed away after a brief illness on Friday, February 1, 2013, at home in Cocoa Beach with his family at his side.
He joins his parents, Irene and Fred James, in heavenly peace.
He leaves behind his beloved son, Connor Fitzgerald James and wife, Kathleen McCann James, his sister, Julie James Solomon, along with an extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends.
Freddie was born in Miami Beach, Florida on February 18, 1957. He attended Holy Family Catholic School and Chaminade High School. He followed in his father's footsteps and served as a life guard for the City of Miami Beach. He pursued his Engineering degree and upon graduation, joined the National Park Service as a hydrologist, dedicated to the restoration of the Florida Everglades.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00pm Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of Our Saviour in Cocoa Beach on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 10:30am.
Freddie was a avid surfer. A paddle out in his honor will take place at a later date.
