Frederick W. Kelly, Jr., 78, died Saturday, January 19, in Palm Bay Hospital. A native of Syracuse, New York, he came to the Palm Bay area in November 1994 from Syracuse. He was a Lutheran and had retired from Carrier Air Conditioning Company where he had been employed for 42 years in maintenance. He was a veteran, having served in the Marines. He had been a volunteer with the Palm Bay Health First Auxiliary since 2001, and was a member of the Elks Lodge
here in Melbourne and the Barefoot Bay Marine Corps League.
Predeceased by two children, Fred Kelly III, Colleen Meadow and brother, James; survivors include his wife, Flora; three sons: Burt of Syracuse, NY, Brian of Mathews, NC, Stephen Slingerland also of Syracuse, NY; daughter, Nancy Moran of Syracuse, NY; brother, Paul of Palm Bay; two sisters, Margy Kelly of Palm Bay, Wendy Eberline of Newburgh, Indiana; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 23, at 3:00 PM at the Fountain- head Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 until time of service on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park.
