Jane Corbin Jackson died March 17, 2013 after a brief illness. Jane was born on May 13, 1932 in Warren, Ohio to Virginia Irwin Nagel and Philip Stewart Corbin, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Erin Jackson of Detroit, David Jackson of Merritt Island, Philip Jackson of Cocoa Beach, Dana Silver (Dan) of Tallahassee and Susan Hutchings (William) of Palm Bay; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, as well as her sister, Mary Trimbur of Girard, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Philip Corbin, Jr. and William Corbin.
Jane was a graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, Rollins College and Nova University, and was employed prior to her marriage as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, flying on routes throughout the southwestern United States. After marrying Russell Raymond Jackson, Jr., she lived with her family in northern Virginia for many years before moving to Merritt Island in 1970.
She was an employee of the Brevard County School Board and taught at Indialantic Elementary School for most of her career. She was a proud member and past president of ADK, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators, Fidelis Iota Chapter. She was a member of Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Satellite Beach.
Jane enjoyed cooking, traveling, the company of her friends and neighbors, visiting her family and the loving affection of her cat, Mimi. She was an avid puzzle solver, an able gardener and talented jewelry maker.
