MSgt. Joseph M. Ambrose, Jr. (USAF) Ret., 86, departed this life and was graciously taken to heaven on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Born in Maui, HI on November 1st, 1926, Joe was the child of late Joseph and Mary DeRego-Ambrose. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII, serving campaigns throughout the Pacific being aboard the 100th Subchaser. He served in the Army during the Korean War and later was positioned in the Air Force touring in Vietnam. Joe was a long time resident of Brevard County, a member of VFW Post 4643 and proudly retired from the Brevard County Sheriff's Dept. after 17 years of commitment. Joe will be remembered by his exceptional legacy, kindness and love for his family and country.

Memories will be cherished by his beloved wife of 59 years, Helen; children, Cindy Skinner (Roger), Joe Ambrose (Amy) and Teresa Puterbaugh (Jon); grandchildren, Travis, Aimee, Shelby, Eric, and Kaitlyn.

Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1st at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne with a memorial service to follow at 6 p.m.
