Julia Veronica Miller (Brophy) of Indialantic, Florida, passed away on Monday surrounded by her loving family. Julia was born on September 12, 1924 to Frank and Julia Brophy. She was raised in Grassy Point, NY, as member of a large Irish family during the depression.
She met her future husband, Daniel J. Miller of Stony Point, NY, in high school and the two married upon his return from World War II, where they embarked on a military career together.
First and foremost, she was a loving wife and dedicated mother to six children, providing a loving and caring environment for her family; always maintaining family unity and ensuring everyone's needs were always met before her own. Julia also enjoyed being the wife of an Air Force Pilot and the military way of life.
The family lived in many interesting cities throughout the US, and overseas locations including beautiful downtown Bagiou City in the Philippines and tropical Goose Bay, Labrador.
Julia enjoyed many creative interests including painting, working in her garden and decorating her home. Her sense of style was present in all aspects of her life.
After 30 years in the military, Julia and Dan retired in Indialantic, FL, where they designed and built their dream home. In their retirement, they enjoyed entertaining friends and spending time with their family.
Julia will always be remembered by her loving family; her children, Dan Miller, Michael Miller, Kevin Miller, Tim Miller, Julie Gizzi and Mark Miller; 11 grandchildren, Amy, Michael, John, Danny Joe, Kelly, Meredith, Lauren, Steven, Christine, James and Luke; and 15 great-grandchildren, Jameisha, Jaelen, Jeremy, Ruby, Braden, Ricky, Grace, Julia, John Patrick, Aidan, Addison, Chloe, Bradley, Mikayla and Cole.
The viewing will be held at Beach Funeral Home in Indian Harbor Beach on Thursday, May 2nd from 6-8 PM, and a mass will be conducted at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church at 11am on Friday, May 3rd. Arrangements are being made for her to be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery along side her husband, Lt. Col. Daniel J. Miller.
