June, of Cocoa Beach, who was a life-long Christian, was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on June 15, 1922. She went to her Lord on November 9, 2012. She was at home with her family.
June is survived by her two children, Berne D. Schmidlkofer and Renie (Rinky) J. Schmidlkofer; two grandchildren, Theodore C. Schmidlkofer and June Elizabeth Schmidlkofer; and three great grandchildren, Kai Michelle Schmidlkofer, Theodore C. Schmidlkofer, II and Luke Schmidlkofer. Her surviving cousins are Richard V. S. Roosa and his wife Bebe, Marylou Miller, Jeannine Miller, and T. C. Miller.
June was a graduate of the University of Miami where she received her BBA. During that time, she met Almon D. Schmidlkofer (Smitty), who preceded her in death, and they were married. She had another child that preceded her in death, Sherri Beth Schmidlkofer.
After years of following her husband, who was in the Air Force, where they were stationed in Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Bermuda, and ended up at Patrick Air Force Base
. While stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, June began teaching at Morningside Elementary School in Maryland, where she found a great love in her life - teaching children. From there they were stationed at Patrick Air Force Base, where she had a position as a teacher from 1959 - 1962. She then taught at Satellite Jr./Sr. High School from 1962 - 1964. DeLaura Jr. High was her last assignment, which was from 1964 - 1984. She taught history and geography. During her time as a teacher at De Laura, she and Smitty traveled to many countries (Russia, Jamaica, France, Italy, Switzerland, to name a few).
June loved music and was an avid piano player, tap dancer (The Golden Steppers - 13 years), gardener, and dog lover. The surviving dog grandchildren are Yoda, Sassy, and Nestle. Miss Mary Poppins was her remaining great grand cat.

There will be a gathering for all family and friends, no matter the age, at June's home on December 1, 2012, from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Please bring a story of joy about you and June, something that all can enjoy. Thank you all so much for being a part of the life of June B. Schmidlkofer.
