Loren 'Ed' Blair
Cocoa Beach, FL
Loren "Ed" Blair, our amazing father, age 99, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was born in Quenemo, KS on October 17, 1914. He entered the U.S. Navy
at a young age, served for 20 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Following his naval career, he was in the employ of Pan American World Airways as a supervisor at the Kennedy Space Center, retiring in 1978. By example, dad taught us to love and serve others. He loved the Lord and lived the Christian life. This quote from Roy Lessin describes dad: "When God measures a man, He measures the heart". Dad was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach since 1958. Also, he was a member of the Gideons Int'l, worked with Wycliffe Associates and Habitat for Humanity.
Ed was preceded in death by our loving mother, Inez Ann Blair in 2002. He is survived by his three children, Joe Ed Blair of CA, Janet Blair Aschmann of GA, and Susan Blair Case of Cocoa Beach. His delight was his beloved eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed, but his legacy of love and service will live on in our hearts.
A celebration of life service will be held at the FUMC of Cocoa Beach on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideons Int'l in his memory. Arrangements entrusted to Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Rockledge, 632-1350. Share memories and sign the family guestbook at www.afcfcare.com
