Lorraine Maillet Blomen
Lorraine (Maillet) Blomen, 91, of Rockledge, FL died October 24 following surgery at Westhoff Hospital in Rockledge. She lived in Rockledge for 35 years. Her husband Arthur Blomen died in 1999.
She was a 1942 graduate of Gardner (MA) High School and Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. As an RN she was employed at hospitals in Gardner, Waltham, Marlboro, and Rockledge. From 1951 to 1954 she served as an Army
lieutenant R.N in Texas and Japan.
Lorraine is survived by three sisters; Bertha Martin of Manchester, N.H, Evangeline Sayers of Glastonbury, CT, Odette Niemela of Gardner, MA, and one brother, Gerard Maillet of Gardner, MA. She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Sandy Weir and her husband Ted and Karen Williams along with grandchildren Wendy, Kerry, Alison, Herbert and several great grandchildren. Lorraine also leaves many nieces and nephews and their children. She is predeceased by six sisters; Sr. Marie, Sr. Lydie, Ourora, Rose, Barbara, Edna, and one brother Emile.
Lorraine was an avid reader and she left many close and dear friends in Florida.
A Mass to celebrate Lorraine's life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:30 AM St Mary's Catholic Church, Rockledge, FL
