Louise (Appelbaum) Beddow(1918 - 2012)

Louise (Appelbaum) Beddow, 94, died of age related causes on October 26, 2012.

Born June 18, 1918 in Trenton, New Jersey, she attended the University of Michigan, traveled extensively and worked until joining the WACS during World War II. Her service and adventures there would bond her to her platoon, "Sherman's Platoon", for the rest of her life.

Louise married beloved husband, John Beddow, in 1946 in her childhood synagogue and shared her life with him until he passed in 2002. She leaves behind their treasured daughters, Gail, Erica, and Alison, and son-in-law, Geoffry.

In 1950, she and John moved to Melbourne where John was the hospital administrator at Melbourne Hospital. When it was time to retire, they happily returned to Melbourne where they spent many content years together.

Louise was a life long student, both formal (graduating from Rutgers in 1967 and continuing graduate research there) and informal (she and John shared a love of travel and were especially fond of Elder Hostel). After John's passing, she moved to The Fountains where she continued to engage in a wide array of community, charitable and social activities and never stopped making friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Daily Bread.

Services will be private. Louise will be interred at Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell.
