Margaret Woeber Obituary
Satellite Beach, Florida
Margaret Wessinger Woeber, 92, a resident of Satellite Beach since 1965, passed on January 22, 2014.
Born and raised in South Carolina, at 16 she entered Winthrop College and graduated in 1941. She married during WWII and two sons, James Bryant Hinnant III (Barry) and Lee Louis Hinnant, followed. She taught high school math in Jacksonville, FL.
Following a divorce, she moved to Brevard County in 1965 to become math professor at Brevard Community College. She married Howard Woeber in 1966. After her retirement in 1981, she and Howard traveled, including 13 trips of various durations, the longest being nine months, to the Bahamas aboard their "motor sailor," the Al Viento. After Howard's death in 1985, she continued her travels, with a variety of friends, to many countries of the world.
Her personality was warm, friendly, outgoing, and kind. She had a card made describing herself as "fun raiser," and she lived to the billing. As one of her friends said, "She was always up for anything." Her friends were impressed, but not surprised, at her parasailing adventure at the age of 88. She tithed to her church, and her mailbox was filled with solicitations from the many organizations to which she made charitable contributions.
She leaves behind her fortunate sons; a grandson by Barry, Douglas Alan Hinnant (Jennifer); two great grandsons; a sister-in-law and nieces and nephews in SC; and many friends. She is predeceased by a grandson, Russell James Hinnant, and by her brother Carl Wessinger.
A visitation will be held at Beach Funeral Home - East, Indian Harbour Beach on Wednesday, January 29th from 9-10am with a service to be held at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Satellite Beach at 10:30 a.m. A reception at parish hall will immediately follow after the service with interment at 1 p.m. at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
