Regina Gaydos

Regina would tell you, "I don't have religious views; I have a wonderful relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". Regina died peacefully at home on February 24, 2013 ,and is now seated next to her Lord and Savior.

Born May 15, 1959 in New Jersey to Craig and Regina Karrer, the Karrer family settled in Cocoa Beach, where Regina's love for the ocean, beach, sun and sand began. She graduated from Cocoa Beach High School, class of 1977.

For all that loved Regina, they will tell you what a big, caring and giving heart she had. She greeted all with open arms; nobody in her presence was ever considered a stranger.

Regina had many passions in life. She loved to sing, was just shy of receiving her pilots license, and none of us will ever deny her incredible determination and desire to receive her Boat Captains License.

Her boating adventures and career began in 1983 when she went to work aboard a 1929 - 112 ft. Trumpy yacht named "High Spirts", as the First Mate for five years. The yacht entertained celebrities, multimillionaires, and politicians during that time, and Regina held her own and then some with all of them. It was during this time that she became a fantastic Chef. After the High Spirits, she went to work aboard the Satisfaction, a 90 ft. Burger Motor yacht, and traveled all over New England and the Caribbean. Regina moved to the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area where her reputation in the yachting community was well sought after and respected.

It was while living and working in Miami that Regina met the love of her life, Richard Gaydos (and Richard met the most beautiful woman and love of his life, 'Bun-Bun'). They married in 1992. In October of 2012 Regina and Richard celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary by renewing their wedding vows.

Regina built a wonderful life with her husband Richard. Their home, always filled with love and laughter, welcomed many friends and family. Their love for travel and photography expanded into a business. and Regina became president of Focus On Commercial Photography. While in Miami and then later on in Orlando, Regina put her organizational skills, tenacity, and passion for making everyone happy, into Chairing and Co-Chairing the Boma Organization (Building Owners Management Association) annual Toby Awards, for outstanding building of the year award. Regina could put together an intimate dinner for two or a gala for a thousand.

In 2005, Regina and Richard relocated back to Merritt Island, Florida, to continue the business and to be closer to the family and friends she loved dearly.

Regina is survived by her loving husband, Richard Gaydos; parents, Craig and Regina Karrer; sister, LeeAnn (Chuck) Feigle; step son, Kenneth Gaydos; nieces and nephews, Amber, Aaron, Chris, Sarah, Phillip, Elizabeth, Lauren; and grand-nephew, Jaden. She is preceded in death by her sister, Linda; and her brother, Craig.

Services will be held March 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church Chapel, 140 Magnolia Avenue, Merritt Island, Florida, 321-453-2144. The family will be receiving guest immediately following the service.
