Rita Eileen Marks (93 plus), a fifty year Titusville resident, graduated to her heavenly home on February 19th, 2013. On December 24, 1919, Rita was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts to the late William and Hazel Lynch. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William (Bill) Lynch and John Lynch; and by her precious husband of 72 plus years, David Ogden Marks.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce (husband, David) Craig, and Eileen (husband, Michael) Olewski; two grand- children, Joyce (husband, Chris) Inman, and Tarah Olewski; and two great-grandchildren, Marah and Sanders Inman.
Rita graduated from Dorchester High School and from Portia Law School (now the New England School of Law), where she was Valedictorian of her class. For many years, she chose to stay at home and be an extraordinary and nurturing mother to her two daughters. For a brief time, she served our community as a substitute teacher, and then she became a successful realtor for over 40 years where her chief joy was finding that "special home" for every customer. At the age of 84, Rita retired from real estate to care for her beloved husband.
During her husband's tenure at Pan American, Rita and her husband David traveled worldwide to Portugal, England, Ireland, Holland, and South America, always returning home to their beloved community in Titusville.
Throughout her 93 plus years on earth, she touched many lives as Mummy to her two daughters, as Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and as friend and wise mentor to many. She believed in the Lord, in her family, in her friends, and in her country. She was known for being a true Proverbs 31 woman of dignity and wisdom.
Her great pleasure was in quietly and consistently helping others as much as she could, and her kind deeds and words plus her unique and delightful sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Although the loss of such a person can never be filled, it is her family's hope that all whose lives she touched will rejoice in the time we shared with her. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. on March 2, 2013 followed by a memorial celebration at 11:00 A.M. at the North Brevard Funeral Home. Interment will occur at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you create special memories filled with words of affirmation and encouragement with your loved ones.
