Robert Lee Tipton
Robert Lee Tipton peacefully passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, in Melbourne, FL. He would tell you with a smile, that he had a full and wonderful life of almost 92 years.
"Bob" was born June 23, 1921, in Burnsville, NC, the youngest of five sons. He met his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Lucille Cox, in Johnson City, TN, and they had three children of whom he was very proud. His children and family celebrate his life and his passing, because he was a Christian.
He loved his family, he loved life, he loved people, and he loved nature he loved a good joke, a good neighbor, and a good steak. He never met a stranger, and he never missed an opportunity to help a neighbor or a friend. He was an affectionate, happy man, but he hated to lose a game of cards.
Bob served our country in the U.S. Navy
and he was a proud American. He was a man of many talents and interests. He was fascinated with cars and wood, and worked well with both. There wasn't anything he couldn't build or repair, and he never lost his inquisitive appetite for learning about the world around him.
He is survived by his wife, "Dot"; daughter, Connie Tipton Dore; sons, Donald L. Tipton and Michael V. Tipton and his wife, Sharon; granddaughter, Sabra Tipton Cawby and her husband, Chad; and grandson, SGT Dexter M. Tipton, serving in the U.S. Army.
Bob Tipton was a good man; his quick wit, laughter and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
