Virginia P. Andrew, 89, of Melbourne, died November 3, 2012, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lumberton, NC on May 25, 1923. She was the second oldest of nine children born to Clyde and Ethel Powers.
She was married twice, first to Clarence Fields and next to Thomas Andrew.
She was predeceased by brothers, John, CV, Norwood, Elwood, Henry, and sister, Ruby.
She is survived by son, Donald Fields; daughter, Andora Andrew; brother, Nash Powers; sister, Dorothy Ellingwood; and grandchildren, Gregory Fields, Brenda Stevens, and David Fields. She has numerous nieces and nephews living in Brevard, North Georgia, and the Carolinas.
She moved to Melbourne in 1956 and became active in the First United Methodist Church of Melbourne and the Melbourne Garden Club. After working at Melbourne High School's cafeteria, and the Tradewinds Cafeteria, she began a career in printing with Radiation and finally at PAFB
with the Civil Service until retiring in 1990.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at 3 pm, at the First United Methodist Church of Melbourne, located at 110 E. New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, FL.
