To my Marine (once a Marine always a Marine)
Happy 237th Birthday United States Marine Corps today, November 10,
2012 and Veterans Day tomorrow, November 11, 2012.
You served your country for many, many years and was proud of it. You fought for our country, protected dignitaries who came to the U.S. to visit, protected our embassy in Bolivia and Ecuador, among many other duties.
I remember all the Marine Corps Balls that we attended and the fun we had. You were even able to take both of our daughters to a Marine Corps Ball (at separate times) and they were so excited and proud to go with you.
It didn't stop there. You then became a Police Officer for the city of Westminster, California, where you served and protected the people of that city.
I miss you on this day and will be thinking of you.
Love,
Me

Ellen, Kimberly, Kristy and family, we lack the words to convey our heartfelt feelings and condelences. Jim's untimely death has greatly saddened Gerri and me. We take comfort in remembering the good times we shared. Take comfort now in your friends and family. God is near. We hope you will call us anytime, and we certainly will be calling you and staying closer. Know that we will always be here for you and your family. God's blessings to you. Jay and Gerri Balli

Ellen, it has been many years (El Toro) since we've seen each other. Jim and are, along with Jay were in the 6th Team in 71-72. When Jim went to the reunion for CI in HI in 99, we had a great time together running around the island. My best wishes for you and your family. I had a long chat with Jay a couple of days ago and Jim's passing has been quite difficult.
Like your family, his Marine friends will miss him also. Warm regards,
Patrick Stevens, USMC,Captain, Retired

To Ellen Pomeroy and the rest of Jim's Family.
Jim and I were on Special Security Detail, Marine Security Guard Battalion, Washington, DC in 1968-69 when we were both Sargeants. I knew Ellen from working at the Main State Dept. building in O/SY/PRS. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss. Jim was a fine man and a good friend from the "old days." I remember that a few years back, Jim and Ellen and my wife Diane met to remember the old days when we all worked together. Diane and I both will be praying for Jim and for God to assist all of his family in providing comfort and the knowledge that Jim is now with Him.
We live in northern Virginia and plan to attend the internment at Quantico National Cemetery.
Sincerely, GySgt William J. and Diane Ferris III (Stafford, Virginia)
