Johanna -
Candy and I are so sorry for your loss, but Walter will never be gone from our lives, because we think of him and speak of him so often. He was a beautiful soul and he touched everybody he met. I have never heard a bad word spoken about our Walter, and since his passing people in the biliards world have been calling me and stopping me to talk about just what a great guy he was. Our hearts go out to you.

Sorry for your loss. Met Walt once at a
billiard tournament in Las Vegas. He has given me untold hours of pleasure playing billiards after reading all four of his books and he will live on through them.

Johanna and Family; I and my family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you all at this trying time. I've known Walt for 45 years, being a fellow Chicagoian, and somewhat better since I and my family moved to Cocoa Beach. He was a great ambassador for the game of billiards all around the world with his books. He will surely be missed by all!

Not too many people are as unfailingly nice as Walt was.
I knew him mostly from his visits to NYC for tournaments at SL Billiards and Carom Cafe and am very sorry that I will not get to see him again.
My condolences to his family and non-billiard friends. As you can see from what has already been written here, the billiard community shares your great loss.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Walt's passing. If all the nice people in the World were jewels, Walt would have been considered a gem. He will be missed by everyone fortunate enough to have know him. My heart felt sympathies go out to his family.

Walt was a Great Ambassador for the game of 3-Cushion Billiards and a Friend to all Players that he met. He will be missed and remembered. In my opinion he should be voted into the Billiard Hall of Fame. His friend, Darrel "Stutes" Stutesman.

Walt's contributions to billiards will live forever through his books. His curiosity about the game never ceased. His friendly manner helped to persuade great players to reveal their secrets. I cherish the time we spent together.

Dear Johanna, you don't know me, I'm just some guy in Dayton, Ohio. Walt didn't know me either, but he always took the time to chat with me. Anytime I'd email him, he'd quickly reply with a personable & helpful response. I'd ask questions about his books, about my table and about billiards-- he was never stingy with his wit & wisdom. What a great person.
