Jenny Gilliam Obituary


Jenny P. Gilliam died Sunday, June 12, 2011 after a lengthy illness, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne. Jenny was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, but lived the majority of her life in Melbourne.

She was in the banking business for nearly forty years, having received her banking certification from the University of Florida. She began her banking career as a bank teller, became a branch manager and vice president, retiring from Wachovia Bank in 2005.

During her time in Melbourne she was active in many community organizations. She was a member of the Melbourne Eastern Star Chapter No. 106 and was a past president of the Pilot Club. She was a long time volunteer for the Holmes Pink Ladies Auxiliary and was a past member of the Melbourne Municipal Band.

Jenny was an avid NASCAR and Gator Fan and was a lifelong Methodist.

She is survived by a son, Timothy Jon Gilliam of Melbourne; brother, Frank W. Pannell (Dee Dee) of Melbourne; sister, Susie P. Boggs of Knoxville, TN; nieces, Kerry Jennings (Greg) and Stacey Jett (Kelly) both of Melbourne.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 16, at 11:00 am at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 S. US Highway #1, Rockledge.

The family requests expressions of sympathy may be made to The American Cancer Society, 4450 Eau Gallie Blvd., Suite 280, Melbourne, FL 32934.

Tim - Rene and I were so very sorry to hear of your loss of your Mom. I knew her from 1974 from working with Bill Potter.
