Gené Hanson Gallucci

Gené Hanson Gallucci, 85, died in the comfort of her home on Oct. 28, 2013. She was born in Manhattan on Jan. 26, 1928 to Ruth Wilson Hanson and Walter R. Hanson. In 1932 they moved to Poughkeepsie, NY where she graduated from high school in 1945. After high school, she attended Cortland State.
Gené married her high school sweetheart, Charles Francis Gallucci in 1948. They moved to Milford, CT where in 1951 she had a son, Charles Robert. In 1952 the family moved to Norfolk, VA where she taught 5th grade. While living in Norfolk, she had two daughters, Candace Gené and Celeste Frances.
The family relocated to Feeding Hills, MA in 1960 where she continued teaching. Gené was a member of the Springfield Kennel Club. The family raised and showed miniature dachshund's. Charlehiem's Dachshunds was a project that the whole family enjoyed.
Gené and Charles retired to Titusville in 1989. They moved to Swan Lake, where they quickly became active members in the community. Gené participated in shuffleboard, bridge and other activities at the club house. Gené is proceeded in death by her parents and half-brother Walter S. Hanson.
She is survived by her loving husband Charles F. Gallucci and their children Charles R. Gallucci, Candace G. Bennett and Celeste G. Bowker and their spouses Judith Gallucci, Richard Bennett and Michael Bowker. Gene has six loving grandchildren Lt. Matthew Bennett USN, Mary Bennett, Alex Bennett, Katelin Bowker, Lindsey Bowker and Hayley Bowker.
On November 2, 2013 at 1:30 there will be an intimate blessing at her home followed by an open house for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Gené's name to Hospice of St. Francis Inc., 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville FL. 32780.
