Hilda (Brown) O'Keefe Obituary

Hilda (Brown) O'Keefe died August 7, 2012, at the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, after a brief illness.

She was born on April 13, 1915 in Whitehall, NY, the youngest of four daughters born to John C. and Daisy Relle (Boyce) Brown. Her family moved to Plattsburgh, NY, where she graduated from high school and went to business school.

While working as a stenographer at the Clinton Prison at Dannemora, NY, she met Theodore "Ted" O'Keefe, a registered nurse at the prison, whom she married on February 12, 1953. They lived in Dannemora for thirteen years, then later in Plattsburgh, and retired to Titusville, FL in 1971.

She was an avid Duplicate Bridge player well into her 90's and collected 1300 points over the years which made her a Silver Life Master.

Hilda was predeceased by her parents, her three sisters, Georgiana, Florence and Marion; and her husband, who died in an automobile accident in 1987.

In 2004, she moved to Bishop's Glen, a retirement community in Holly Hill, FL.

Memorial services are pending. Burial will be in the family plot in Whitehall, NY.
