Jose Cobas Obituary

Jose Francisco (Frank) Cobas, passed away in his home and went to be with the Lord with his family at his bedside, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in Satellite Beach. Jose was born in Placetas Las Villas, Cuba, September 23, 1930.

He escaped from Castro's dictatorship in 1962 with his wife, Nelkis, and his five-year old daughter, Cari. Making a new life in the United States, Frank was the proudest of United States' citizens. He worked tirelessly for his family working his way up from loading bananas off of boats to Vice President of Cocoa Beach State Bank, retiring later from Commerce Bank in Coral Gables, Florida. He was a good provider even in death.

Frank was a devout Catholic and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. A proud member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, he was always loving and kind. Frank was a gentle father, husband, and grandfather. He was loved by his friends for his good humor and his reverberant laugh. Frank loved football, Walker Texas Ranger, and a heaping pile of BBQ ribs. He always left his plate clean.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Cari. He is survived by his wife and grandson. Frank will be sorely missed.

Private interment will be held at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
