Laura B. Norrie, 81, a retired educator, died April 16, 2013. Mrs. Norrie was born in Columbus, GA. She came to Brevard County from Moultrie, GA, in 1962.

She was a graduate of Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA, and Norman College, in Norman Park, GA. After a teaching career that spanned 30 years (19 of those in Brevard County's public schools), Mrs. Norrie continued to show her love of educating children by working as a substitute teacher, a classroom volunteer, and private tutoring.

Mrs. Norrie was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Melbourne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan S. Norrie. Mrs. Norrie is survived by her sons, Michael Norrie, of Cathedral City, CA, and John Norrie of Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter, Lynn Jaime of Indialantic, and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Lindsay, of Colorado Springs, CO; her brother, John Baugh, of Bartlett, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

No calling hours are scheduled. A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced. Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne is in charge of arrangements.
