Lola Richens, 95, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Viera Hospital. Mrs. Richens was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1917. She moved to Cocoa Beach in 1967. She was a devoted friend and mother. Her primary hobby was her home, yard and interior decorating.
She was member of several bridge groups, the Cocoa Beach Boating Club, Citizens League, Officers Wives Club and the First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach, she loved traveling.
During her active lifetime she owned and managed several businesses's, was a head teller in the banking business and liked to invest in real estate. She actively followed civic affairs with her deceased husband Kent Richens. Her personal characteristics were enjoying social associations and entertaining - especially the boating parade and bridge parties, strong relationships with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known among her friends as happy and friendly to everyone. A good seamstress and housekeeper.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (John) Germany, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Cocoa Beach on Saturday, December 15th at 1 PM.
The family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Garden Fund, 3300 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931.
