Louis C. Behrens, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Melbourne, FL. Born in Paterson, NJ, Louis was the beloved child of the late Louis C. and Anna R. Eislie-Behrens. He was a graduate of Butler High School and attended Newark College of Engineering. Louis worked at Kearfott Inc., before becoming a Pequannock Police Officer. In 1994, Louis retired from the Pequannock Police Department after 25 years of commitment.
Louis loved the beauty of the sunshine state and he and his late wife, Doris spent many years traveling between New Jersey and Florida.
He was a mason of Acaica Lodge and Salaam Shrine in Livingston, NJ and Azan Shrine in Melbourne, FL.
Louis leaves many memories to be cherished by his loving wife, Marlena; children, Susan Plaisance (Steve), Karen Raymond (Jim), Laura Sant (Skip), Michael Gallagher, Susan Gallagher, Cindy Atry (Frank), Scott Gallagher (Michele), Sheryl Rizzo (Dino), Lisa Oriente (Frank); sisters, Jean Bradley (Bill) and Anna Thunnel; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Gallagher-Behrens; son, Edward Gallagher and his sister, Joan Kunis.
Family will greet friends from 1 p.m. to 3p.m. on Tuesday, January 28th at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m.
