Lourdes Barba Ridyard, 47, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 in Palm Bay. Born in Havana, Cuba, Lourdes was a former teacher and guidance counselor at Titusville High School, and former staffing specialist with Brevard County Schools. She was currently a teacher and counselor at Melbourne Central Catholic High School.
Lourdes was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay. She was also a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority at FIT. She had a BS in Psychology from FIT and a Master's in counseling from Rollins College. She was a volunteer in the athletic program at MCC, and a member of the Moms group at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Lourdes is survived by her husband, Brian Ridyard; daughter, Katherine Ridyard; sons, Michael Ridyard; parents, Carlos and Esther Barba; brother, Charlie Barba; mother and father in law, Allan and Marcia Ridyard; brother and sister in law, Kim and Rusty Corby; niece, Sierra; nephew, Christian; uncles and aunts, Roger and Carol Garnett, and James Ridyard; Fernando and Carmen Palacios; and cousins, Maria Geraci, Carmen Dick, Maria Isabel and Osvaldo Ramon Barba.
Calling hours will be Friday, from 6 until 8 PM, with Rosary services on Friday, at 8 PM at OLL, with a funeral mass on Saturday, April 13th, at 11 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lourdes Barba Ridyard Scholarship Fund c/o Melbourne Central Catholic High School, 100 East Florida Avenue, Melbourne, FL, 32901.
