Margarette Hill passed into eternal life on Thursday, February 7, 2013, having been born in Braeholm, West Virginia on September 1, 1919. Her early years were spent in various small towns in Logan County, West Virginia and on a farm with her dear grandmother, Margaret Conley, in Honeywell, Kentucky.
She fell in love with Sidney P. Hill, an electrician and trade school teacher, who later served in World War II, and they were married for 63 years until Sidney's death in 2001. Margarette and Sidney moved to Titusville, Florida in 1956, and settled there where Sidney had a long career in the missile industry, and Margarette worked proudly as a wife and mother to their six children. She was also a devoted Catholic communicant who participated in bible studies, St. Theresa's choir, and volunteered at the thrift shop. She also enjoyed drawing and writing poems and short stories about her childhood in West Virginia.
Margarette was predeceased by her sister and brother, Elizabeth and Charles, and five of her six children, Margaret Phillis, Warren Dale, Stephen Dennis, Mary Catherine, and Michael Franklin.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Hill Fasnacht, 16 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give thanks to a special neice, Teri McMillan, and caregiver, Debbie Blaylock, who cared for Margarette during her final years.
Donations to St. Francis Hospice are recommended and greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in Margarette's honor at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 2400 S Washington Avenue in Titusville, Florida, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, February 11th, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at St. Theresa's Church, 203 Ojibway Avenue, Titusville.
