Richard Sebastian "Dick, Rocky" Calvetto Obituary

Richard Sebastian "Dick, Rocky" Calvetto; dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, passed peacefully from this life into Eternity with his Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 3, 2013. He was 80 years old.

He was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL on October 6, 1932 to Sebastian Calvetto and Sara Cooper Calvetto.

He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering degree in 1955, and was a member of Gator Marching Band.

He was in the Navy for almost two years prior to moving to Brevard County in late 1957. He worked for various companies at KSC on rockets and satellites during his long career. He enjoyed boating, fishing, airplanes, bridge club, square dancing with his beloved wife, and fixing anything mechanical. He was an active member of the Cocoa Beach Community Church and sang in the church choir.

Rocky is survived by his wife of 52 1/2 years, Jeweldene Boyd Calvetto of Cocoa Beach, FL; his daughters, Julie Calvetto Lopez (Raul) of Hermitage, TN and Karen Sue Calvetto of Cocoa Beach, FL; and his son, Richard Sebastian Calvetto, Jr. (Aimee) of Rockledge, FL; and 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 5-7 PM at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach.

The funeral will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11 AM at Cocoa Beach Community Church in Cocoa Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rocky's beloved "Quo Vadis" project at the Cocoa Beach Community Church in Cocoa Beach.
