Sam was born in Gillette, FL, and grew up in Bradenton. He has been married to Doris Patricia McIntyre for 59 years. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. They settled in Cocoa, FL in 1956. Sam started Branch Tree Service in 1959 and continued with it through the present.
He loved to scuba dive, fish, wood work, build and fly model airplanes, and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert, James and John; and his sisters, Bulah and Hattie; and his grandson, Dennis. He is survived by his wife, Doris; his sisters, Lois and Ruth; his children, Gary (Marleen), Russell (Krissy), Richard (Heidi) and Kim (Gregg); his grandchildren, Chad, Curtis, Matthew (Kristen), Lindsey (Ben), Andrew, Rebekah and Kylie; and his great grandchildren, Evret, Micah and Morgan.
A memorial service will be held at Cocoa Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 17, at 11 am.
