Dear Amy, Dave and Deavon,
My deepest sympathy to you all. I knew Shawn from High School and hung out with him a few times after that on the boat and bumped into him around town from time to time. Every time I ran into him, he always seemed so laid back-in fact, I can't remember one time where he wasn't having a good time and enjoying life. I honestly never saw him angry at anybody or anything. May He Rest in Peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My dear Amy and David....I have just finished reading all the beautiful messages sent to you regarding Shawn's passing. It'll take a few minutes to clear my eyes and begin to write to you.
My sister, Andi, and Nancy DeLeo both relayed the news about Shawn. I'm hoping you can still put a face on some of us from the Apple Band.(80's) Nancy has been trying to find your address for me and a phone number since the Fall. The three of you have drifted in and out of my thoughts so often this year...I really couldn't believe so much time had elapsed. Since my sister,Andi and her son/fiancee recently moved to Melbourne, I became persistent with seeing you again and wondering what had become of Shawn and where his "journey" had taken him.
I have so many fond, sweet memories of developing a relationship with Shawn as a young boy. When did we lose touch? I still see him vividly, holding my hand and guiding me to the place on Satellite Beach where the turtles were laying their eggs. We went back two or three times with flashlights...I will never never forget it.
I am speechless, stunned and so saddened for you and for all of us who knew Shawn.
Please contact me when you're up to it. I would love to see you again and cuddle up with a scrap book of Shawn's to catch up to where he "went" after I lost touch.
I will be in Melbourne the week of April 18th thru the 23rd. Andi's son Sal has a 2 week old baby and I'll be visiting them for 1-2 days then looking for you.
Not sure what hotel yet. I'm scouting around.
Please know you're in my heart and that I'm certain that Shawn is in the awesome presence of the God energy. How and why the best of the best are taken from us..I'll never understand but I have every intention of making the Lord accountable for many questions and mysteries.
We're much older now but you've remained fresh in my thoughts for these many years.

Dear family, We all loved Shawn. We send you our deepest sympathy and condolences for the loss of your special son. We played on the Siggy's pool team for 5 or more years and Shawn at the bar was always a good time. He treated our pool team with special attention. It's hard to imagine that Shawn is gone. I last saw him on Christmas day at my brother Bill's house for dinner. If only I could have known that would be the last hug I would have with him, the last smile, the last joke. Maybe I would have hugged him longer.
Shawn was very close to both Bill and Augie and spent alot of time with them. They both loved him and we all are deeply saddened by his loss.

My heart goes out to all of you. My husband and I started hanging out at Siggys in the early years, before Shawn was old enough to work there. So I guess you could say I watched him grow up. Shawn was a great guy. He always had a smile on his face and was always friendly and welcoming when I came into Siggy's. I consider Siggy's my "home bar" and it won't be the same without Shawn. I will miss him a lot. He was so good to me and my bandmates.

Ultimately, parents expect to die and leave their children behind...This is the natural course of life events, the life cycle continuing as it should. The loss of a child is the loss of innocence, the death of the most vulnerable and dependent. The death of a child signifies the loss of the future, of hopes and dreams, of new strength, and of perfection.
