Arthur "Art" Randall Gresens, 88, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 of heart and kidney failure at Holmes Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. Art was born in Rochester, NY on July 29, 1922 to Arthur August and Florence Marie Gresens.

He proudly served in the US Air Force as a bomber pilot in World War II and retired as a Major in 1982 after 20 years of service. He worked as a flight instructor and then plant manager for Mixing Equipment Company in Rochester, NY for 30 years. He lived in Canandaigua, NY for 20 years and after retiring in 1979, he opened a real estate business in both Canandaigua, NY and Barefoot Bay, FL.
Art was an avid painter, won several awards for his work and was a member of the Space Coast Art League. He taught art classes at Wickham Park Senior Center. He also enjoyed boating and was a member of the Red Jacket Power Squadron in NY.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanne Benham Gresens of Melbourne, FL; his daughter, Karen Barden (Martin) of Canandaigua, NY; his son, Mark Gresens (Karen) of Warwick, RI; two sisters, Joyce Webster (Milo) of Yarmouthport, MA and June Damond of West Yarmouth, MA; and four granddaughters, Lauren, Kathryn, Megan and Sydene.
A local memorial service for friends will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Melbourne, FL. Friends and family are also invited to attend a Celebration of his Life Service on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the First Methodist Church in Canandaigua, NY; interment with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
