William G. Aman, Jr. Melbourne William G. Aman, Jr., 86, a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, died January 20, 2011 while on vacation in Newport Beach, CA. Mr. Aman was born in Canton, Ohio. He came to the Indian River Colony Club in Brevard County in 1988 from Fairfax, Virginia. He served during World War II, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1950, served in Vietnam and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1970. He pursued a second career as a Finan- cial Consultant in the Washington, D.C. metro- politan area until 1988. He was then a volunteer income tax preparer in the community for over 10 years and an original founder of the Brevard Zoo. Mr. Aman was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Viera where he served as a Minister to the Sick and Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Preceded in death by son, William G. Aman III, he is survived by his wife, Pauline (Woodie) Aman of Melbourne; son, Paul W. Aman of Charlestown, WV; daughters, Joanne M. Morrow of Bethesda, MD, Jeanne M. Mattox of Elgin, SC, and Mary M. Aman of Melbourne, FL; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Robert (Maryanne) of NJ and John (Beth) of OH and sister, Marilyn Little (Eugene) of OH. No calling hours are scheduled. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 5. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
