Charles Adam Heitzenroder, 100, passed at his home on Merritt Island FL, on February 5, 2013. Born in East Brunswick, NJ; he was a long time resident of Patrick's Corner on Riva Ave. He retired to Lavalette NJ, then moved to Florida, being sure to fly the Flag everyday.

During World War II, he served on the newly formed East Brunswick Police Reserve under Chief Hoover. Chick later worked as a superintendent for Ross Engineering and Industrial Washing Machines of New Bunswick, NJ for 43 years. While living on Riva Ave, he was known for his helping hand, sharing his home with friends and family during the post war housing shortage. If someone had an emergency, Chick would gather his tools and a brother or two, and show up at the door ready for work.

Charles married his wife, Rose in 1932 and they had 5 children: Rosemarie, Joyce, Patricia, Charles, John; and was widowed. He met and married Margaret; she and her daughter Margie, joined the family. He was again widowed.

Chick was known as Pop during the 35 years he spent in Brevard County. During this time, he continued helping individuals. He was always cheerful and positive. His last months, which were spent primarily at home in the the loving care of his daughter, Rosemarie. His son Chas, granddaughter Brenda, great-granddaughter Sophia, friends Soils, and JoAnne, were also of great assistance. On his last day Pop was with Rosemarie, his grandson, great-granddaughter and great-great-grandson in his presence. That night he peacefully passed on to God. Love was one of the many blessings he had and he gave that love to us all.

Pop will be missed! He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
