Jane (Nackowski) Maccarone

Jane (Nackowski) Maccarone, 87, of Merritt Island, FL, formerly of Manchester, CT, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014. Born on July 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (McCarthy) Nackowski and had been a lifelong resident of Manchester until retiring to Florida in 2001. Jane was a graduate of Manchester High School and received a Bachelor of Music degree from Hartt College. She was a gifted musician, serving as organist and soloist at Saint James Church in Manchester for more than forty years alongside her beloved husband, the late Ralph Maccarone. They were married for 60 years. She taught voice and piano and served as rehearsal pianist for the Little Theater of Manchester and the Manchester Chorale. She enjoyed many trips with her family, especially camping cross country visiting the national parks in the summer of 1966 as well as numerous vacations abroad with her husband.
Jane leaves her four children, Catherine Lally and husband Brian of Merritt Island, FL; Marian Maccarone and husband Stephen Straight of South Windsor, CT; Teresa Von Loh and husband Kirk of Colorado Springs, CO; and Ralph Maccarone, Jr. and wife Valerie of Pagosa Springs, CO. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Erin, Marykate, Michael, Catherine, Giulia, Elise, Emily, Jaime, and Toni, and a great-grandson, Jackson. She was predeceased by a grandson, Rafe. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 110 Main Street, Farmington, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
