Joan Catherine Mason Tierney, 62, was born on January 8, 1952 in Staten Island, NY. The family relocated to Florida where Joan attended Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in South Miami and Miami Dade Community College. Having previously resided in Miami and Palm Bay, Joan moved to Sebastian, Florida where she was the owner of Finnz Game Room. Joan will long be remembered for her beautiful heart, strong will, fun-loving sense of humor, her strong faith in God, and most of all being the most loving Mother to her three children.
Joan was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on April 12, 2014 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.
She was preceded into Heaven by first husband John Ganger; father James Mason, Sr.; brothers Joseph Mason and James Mason, Jr.; and waiting with arms wide open her daughter Genevieve Tierney. Joan's legacy will live on in the hearts, lives and memories of those she loved and held dearest, particularly her beloved children Joseph Tierney of Satellite Beach and Virginia Tierney of Palm Bay; loving mother Joan Mason-Gleason of Melbourne Beach; devoted sister Janine Goldin of Melbourne Beach; former husband John Tierney; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visiting hours are from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, FL. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Old St. Joseph Catholic Church, Miller St. in Palm Bay on Wednesday, April 23, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
