Edward W. Struchen

Melbourne, FL

Born December 12, 1922 in Girard, PA, Edward W. Struchen, 91, entered his heavenly home on May 7, 2014.

Edward W. Struchen was a decorated veteran, with a Heart recipient of WWII and the Korean War. Edd was with the 16th Calvary and the 82nd Airborne Division.

For several years Edd drove a semi-truck with US Mail, and sorted mail for the Erie post office before moving his family to Florida. Edd retired as a machinist of 22 years before becoming a trip driver with Avis for 17 years.

Edd was an avid bowler and golfer, as well as being a great bingo player.

Edd was preceded in death by his wife Martha of 47 years; a daughter Dee Stone and several other loved ones.

Edd is survived by children John Struchen of Georgia, Linda (Larry) Owens of Tennessee and his Lil girl Renee' (Bill) Allgeo, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grand-children, and, three great great-grandchildren, with three on the way.

Services will be conducted by Pastor Alfred Evans on Friday, May 16, at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home in Palm Bay; Viewing 2:00-3:00 pm; Service 3:00 pm; Graveside Service immediately following. Gathering at the Harbor Christian Church, 3210 Aurora Rd., Melbourne, following the services.
