Thurman W. 'Sam' Gould, Jr.
Thurman W. "Sam" Gould, Jr., 82, passed away on Monday, June 16 at his Titusville home. Sam is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret; three children, and six grandchildren.
The New England native earned his chemical engineering degree from the University of Maine and served the U.S. Army as a Nike Ajax missile battery commander. He worked for MacDonnell Douglas for 17 years in West Germany and was a safety inspector for the maiden flight of the Space Shuttle Columbia.
He operated his leading Space Coast solar business for 30 years.
An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he watched their winning 2004 World Series game live in St. Louis. He served as a Freemason, Sertoma Club member, and chair of Titusville's Code Enforcement Board.
Services will be held at Newcomer Cremation, 2400 S. Washington Ave., Titusville, on June 21 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider the needs of the family or a donation to Hospice of St. Francis.
