James 'Jim' Lansing

Merritt Island, FL

Jim was born James Bruce Lansing in Garden City KS on September 4, 1931, to Col. James W. and Frances K. Lansing. He was a Veteran of the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlene S. Lansing; son, James "Kent" Lansing and his wife, Debbie Lansing, and their two sons, James "Garrett" and Riley; and son, Joey K. Lansing and his son, Jared; and son, Craig S. Lansing and his wife, Lisa A. Lansing and their two sons, Kyle and Justin.

Jim spent his last three years in the excellent care of La Casa Senior Assisted Living and Memory Care and Heydays Senior Day Program of Merritt Island. A Wonderful Husband, Father, Friend, Coach, Mentor, Scoutmaster, and the finest example of what it takes to be a 'real man', went to meet our Lord on Thursday, June 19, 2014. Jim lived his life as a follower of his Savior Jesus Christ, paving the way for us to know Him too.

A true gentleman was lost that day and he will be greatly missed by all of us, family and friends alike. A Celebration of his Life will be held at First Baptist Church Merritt Island, 140 Magnolia Ave, Merritt Island, on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the Chapel.
