Rockledge, FL

Rita Petralito, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at her home, after a very fulfilling and joyous life. Rita was born on November 24, 1928, in Lawrence MA. Rita was married to John Petralito for a loving 65 years and followed him to the lord just three months after him.

Rita is survived by her son John Petralito and wife Ellen of New Hampshire, daughter Rachael Petralitio and beloved friend Kathy Sanchez of Rockledge, grandson Chris Petralito and wife Shannon of Massachusetts; granddaughter Jennifer Gil and husband Anthony of Massachusetts; and through marriage granddaughter Michelle Jutton and grandson Keith Nesbitt and wife Katlyn; great grandchildren; Anthony Petralito, Alec Gill, Steven and Michael Jutton and Kayla Nesbitt; and several nieces and nephews and her very special friend Ida Chavez of Cocoa, and her very special brother and sister in law, Charles and Nellie Petralito and their children.

Rita retired from the North Andover Public School Department and being an avid golfer she moved to Florida with her loving husband, John in 1990 so they could golf year round. She was the Co-Chairman of the Doral Ryder Open for many years while living in Miami where she had the pleasure of meeting so many great golfers. She and John moved to Viera East Golf Course in 2001 where she continued her love for golf for many more years.

Rita's life was dedicated to her children and their families. She loved to travel and took many cruises through the years. In recent years, spending weekends at the Hard Rock in Hollywood FL was her most favorite mini vacation.

Rita was loved by all who knew her and they were blessed to have had Rita in their lives. Rita was a member of "The Five Tootsies" which consisted of her lifelong friends from Andover, MA. Rita enjoyed her golf trips with her "Cosmac" friends from Viera.

The family will have a "Celebration of Life" memorial for Rita at St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday November 14, 2014 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in Rita's honor to Wuesthoff Hospice Care, 8060 Spyglass Hill Road, Viera FL 32940.
