Morris Gillet - Viera - Morris Butch Gillet, of Viera, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009. He was born to Judah J. and Sarah Lutzky Gillet in Newark, NJ He grew up in Hillside, NJ and resided in Scotch Plains, NJ for 36 years where he was a member of Congregation Beth Israel (Temple Israel) of Scotch Plains/Fanwood, NJ for 36 years; Former Congregation President; Treasurer of Jewish Federation of Central NJ; member of Scotch Plains/ Fanwood Board of Education 1983-1990; President of Scotch Plains Fanwood High School Band Boosters Association 1991-1993; former member of New Jersey High School Swim Officials. He moved to Viera in 2005. He received his BA in Biology from Lafayette College, Easton, PA. He was the owner/operator of Standard Nipple Works, Inc. for 30 years and was the owner/operator of Essel Paint and Wallpaper in Gillette, NJ for 10 years until he retired and moved to Florida. He was a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Melbourne and a member of the Melbourne Municipal Band. After retirement, Butch enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating and his two grandchildren Jacob and Alex. He is survived by wife of 44 years, Karen Lavigne Gillet; sons, Bill Gillet of Carlisle, PA, Jason Gillet (Jennifer) of Huntington Station, NY, Brad Gillet of South Daytona Beach, FL; sister Evelyn Olesky (Robert) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Florida Memorial Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow.
