Jeffrey Bertholf Hoyt, 70, of Titusville, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011, at his home.
The Guest Book is expired.
Jeff Hoyt was raised in Kenville, NJ. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and began his career at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO. In 1966, Jeff moved to Titusville with his wife, Janet.
Jeff gave 32 years of service to McDonnell Douglas and retired in 1996. Jeff dedicated many years of his life hosting over 30 exchange students, coaching many youths, and a surrogate father to many. The Hoyt Family was the Titusville Family of the Year in 1977.
After retirement, Jeff served on several volunteer boards in Titusville and he was active in the City Council and his Church, Indian River United Methodist. He was an Honorary Submariner aboard the USS Georgia where his son-in-law served. He recently served as the Chairman of Titusville's Citizen Budget Advisory Committee. He had a big heart and gave bigger.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Janet; the families of his six children, Kurt Hoyt (Frances) of Atlanta, GA, Karen Hoyt Mason (Chuck) of Thousand Oaks, CA, Kyle Hoyt (Becky) of Largo, FL, Karre Hoyt Stratford (Simon) of Fauroux France, Kevin Hoyt of Atlanta, GA, Kaete Hoyt Piccirilli (Joe) of Garner, NC, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Jeff's adult beverage hour was at 4 pm so we have decided the Memorial Services will be 4:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Indian River United Methodist Church.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Space Coast Cancer Center Foundation, Hospice of St. Francis, or Moffitt Cancer Hospital.
