Lowell Schell Obituary

Lowell Schell, 48, of Palm Shores went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 16, 2012 in Melbourne.

Lowell moved here in 1995 from Cheyenne, WY. He proudly served his country in the USAF until he retired as a Master Sergeant in 2004. He continued his devout patriotism as a civilian at Lockheed Martin as a Field Engineer.

A son and daughter could not have asked for a more loving and influential father. The love he shared could not be felt more than his best friend, his wife. The impact he left on his friends and family will never be forgotten.

He was a life long Alabama football fan, who loved to hunt and fish. Later in life he proved to be an avid motorcycle rider. In Lowell's death he gave the gift of life by donating his organs.

The family he left behind include his wife, Cindy; son, Corey; and daughter, Devin; parents, Richard and Paulette Schell; brothers, Bryan and Justin; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 21st from 5pm-8pm with a service on Wednesday, August 22nd at 10am at the Brownlie and Maxwell Chapel.

Anyone planning an expression of sympathy is asked to consider the Wounded Warrior Project at www.Wounded-WarriorProject.org.

My condolences to all who's lives were touched by his. I was one of his airmen that worked with him in Cheyenne on his team. I had no idea he had passed. I would have loved to hear his laugh one more time. Great Sgt to work for.

It is hard to believe some many years have slipped by since Lowell’s passing. I have no idea where the years go but it seems they go faster as I age. I did get to the service for Lowell at the TSF on the Cape. I didn’t think I would be able to manage as I departed that afternoon for Europe. But I’m happy I was able to be there and the serve was well executed and a final tribute to Lowell from his fellow team members at the Cape. I know family and friends still miss him dearly. Lowell was a valued member of a very select team who work then, and continues today, to provided support for our national defense strategy. Lowell was responsible for providing oversight of satellite processing and ensuring the satellite systems were ready for launch. The family can be very proud of his devotion to duty both while in the Air Force and his Lockheed Martin duties. He made significant contributions to our national defense and in doing so has provided us with continued freedom.

Cindy, Devin, and Corey,

I cannot begin to express my feelings of sadness nor will I understand the loss. In the short time that I knew Lowell, I knew he was a awesome man of great character.

The love that he expressed for Cindy (and kids) was immense. No one could say Cindy Marie like Lowell could. I admire the Schell love story.

Devin and Corey, I'm sorry for the loss of your father. Hopefully you will be able to carry on with your life's as your father would have wanted. The loss is beyond belief at this time but you will find peace, strength, comfort, and love in the memories you have.

RIP Lowell. I will miss you, your smile, and your laugh.

Cindy you have always been such a strong person. You are in my thoughts during this incredible loss. Your family's loss is felt by so many people. Lowell was a great role model to many kids as he coached them in their early years. Know you are never alone and always have friends by your side. God has a plan for everyone even though it maybe hard to understand now. Believe me Lowell is so proud of the strength you and your children have shown. May the pain you feel now lessen as the wonderful memories you have shine through.

We may not have spoke or hung out recently but you were always one of my favorites! I will always have tons of respect for you and the way you carried yourself. You always worked hard, played hard, took great care of your family and when you coached football, a born leader of young men. I will always remember your laugh and constant smile. Can't wait to throw a few back with you when our time is right. I will always be proud to call you a friend! My deepest sympathies Cyndi, Corey, and Devin, God Bless

My deepest sympathies to the Schell family.

Lowell was a model American who devoted his adult life to the freedom we all enjoy. In doing so, he made many sacrifices for which I am personally grateful. It was a pleasure and honor to have worked with Lowell before my retirement. He made significant contributions to the defense and safety of our nation while he served in the Air Force and a Lockheed Martin field engineer and was a valued team member. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend any of the services for Lowell as I will be out of the country but my thoughts and prayers will be with the family.

The pain in my heart is tempered only by fond memories of a friend to all. I will cherish these memories that are forever. The family and friends you leave will celebrate your life and the richness you have provided to our lives. No man has been a better husband, father, and friend.
